The people of Mönchengladbach defy winter with mulled claret and live music on the square in front of the theater. Besides the shacks with the typical assortment of Christmas fair offerings, there is a children's carousel and an ice rink on the square which is decorated according to the season. Cafe Heinemann forms one side of the architectural fan in front of the shopping mall Theatergalerie. The panorama shows the view on the Hindenburg street from the bridge in front of the first floor of the mall.
