The boardwalk in front of the old town is the main docking place of the Köln-Düsseldorfer excursion boats. Since 1982, the road on the left bank is in a tunnel between the Deutzer bridge and the Hohenzollern bridge. The area on the surface became the Rheingarten ("Rhine garden"). Pedestrians and cyclists can access the Hohenzollern bridge via the stairways and serpentines towards the Heinrich Böll square.
