Cologne, Paolozzi Fountain

At the northern end of the Rhine garden, between Heinrich Böll Square and river, is the Paolozzi fountain, which is also simply known as sculpture fountain. On warm summer days, water flows along the ripples which are surrounded by abstract sculptures. The stone blocks which are scattered in the path of the water originate from a former streetcar ramp to the Hohenzollern bridge. The sculptures are the work of Scottish artist Sir Eduardo Paolozzi, who was professor at the Cologne University of Applied Sciences and Arts from 1977 to 1981.
