Düsseldorf, Königsallee

At the northern end of the Königsallee is the Cornelius square with a fountain by Leo Müsch. Behind the fountain you see Königsallee number 1: The Galeria Kaufhof building was designed by Joseph Maria Olbrich in the Art Nouveau style and built in the early 20th century.

The Königsallee (King's Avenue) is the posh shopping street of Düsseldorf. Every luxury brand is represented here: Louis Vuitton, Cartier, Gucci, Prada, Armani and many more invite you to spend money or do some window shopping, depending on the contents of your wallet. You can take a break and use a chance to see and be seen in the restaurants or coffeehouses in one of the malls or right on the Kö, as it's affectionately called by the locals.
