Mönchengladbach, Sculpture Garden and Minster

Situated beneath the Minster, the sculpture garden, which belongs to the Museum Abteiberg, shows modern art where monks used to harvest fruit. The park is open to the public at different times depending on the time of year. The former rectorate garden, where the picture was taken, is divided from the larger part of the sculpure garden by a small brick wall. The "Sphère" at the lower end of the slope is an almost three meters tall sphere made of interwoven oblong sticks by François Morellet. The pill shaped aluminum sculpure standing uphill is the "Flause" by Franz West.
