In 2007 the Mannesmannufer got a new attraction: Kunst Im Tunnel (Art in the Tunnel), or "KIT" for short, utilizes idle space beneath the promenade which resulted from the construction of the Rhine bank tunnel. The location is an unusual backdrop for the work of young artists. A pavillion has been constructed to form the above-ground entrance to the exhibition, and doubles as Café Curtiz.
