In August 2006 the park and roads surrounding Castle Dyck were the location of the first Classic Days vintage car festival. Approximately 20000 visitors enjoyed the races in excellent weather. Apart from hundreds of automobile classics and racecars, the exhibition also included historic tractors, fire engines and motorbikes. The picture shows the big parking area for the treasures which visitors had brought along. The Classic Days club was prominently represented by founding member Horst Lichter. The famous cook is a passionate collector himself and was among the exhibitors with a Jaguar D-Type and a Setra bus which he had converted into a mobile kitchen. The net proceeds of the festival are donated to the Schloss Dyck foundation which maintains the castle and the surrounding park.
