On the first weekend in August, the Classic Days 2007 repeated the success of last year's first installment of the vintage car festival. On two sunshiny days, about 30000 visitors came to see the oldtimer exhibits in the parks around Castle Dyck and lined the roads where the classic cars raced against the clock. Despite comprehensive security measures, the otherwise successful event was clouded by the theft of five valuable vintage cars. One of the cars, a Ferrari F40, was later found in the Dutch town of Heerlen and has been returned to its owner.
